Johnson County Trails Master Plan
Griffin Collaborative Designs was hired by Johnson County Trails, Aspire Johnson County, and Johnson County to complete a comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian plan.
Each bicycle facility route and pedestrian improvement was thoroughly investigated and decisions were based on a process that consisted of a county-wide inventory and analysis, public input, design synthesis, and development of design standards before ultimately reaching the master plan stage.
The finalized bicycle and pedestrian facility master plan identifies 35 different corridors for improvement. Two different types of bicycle and pedestrian treatments are proposed to strengthen the bicycle and pedestrian network. There is a potential for 97 miles of trail and 68 miles of shared-use roadway.
